  • Boat Shows in the U.S.

    Feb 25, 2011
Boat Shows in the U.S.Each year there are hundreds of local, regional and international boat shows that take place in nearly every major U.S. city near a coastline. Boat shows give boating enthusiasts an opportunity to tour some of the latest models and designs by boat manufacturers in hopes of getting a great deal on their next boat purchase.

The vast collection of boat brands and models at boat shows provides great opportunity for buyers to check out a variety of boat styles and sizes in one location. Prospective boat buyers can tour boats and see first-hand the latest options and technology offered by the newest boat models on the market. Manufacturers and dealers are also anxious to sell inventory of boat models from previous years to make room for this year’s, and often tempt buyers with special manufacturer deals and incentives at boat shows.

In addition to new boat showcases, many boat shows have extensive displays for boating supplies and accessories, marine electronics, nautical gifts, boating apparel, marina services and more. Top boat shows across the U.S. are also packed with special events, entertainment and activities that compliment the boating lifestyle.

    Miami International Boat Show

Of all the boat shows in the U.S., the Miami International Boat Show is one of the largest boat shows and is also thought to be one of the more influential boat shows worldwide. Like many boat shows in the U.S., Miami is usually scheduled in the beginning of the year. However, the significant international attention and scale of the Miami Boat Show makes it a good gauge of boater interest and sales potential for the coming boat show season. Miami International Boat Show is often viewed as a ‘must-see? boat show for boating enthusiasts across the U.S. and worldwide.

The Miami show consists of three boat shows spanning three locations in Miami; Miami International Boat Show; The Yacht and Brokerage Show; and Strictly Sail Miami Boat Show. The three exhibits offer a wide range of new and used boat displays – from small power boats to large luxury megayachts and sailboats – as well as boat engines, electronics and marine accessories from more than 2,000 manufacturers.

Boat Show Sales and Used Boat Inventory

As new boat sales increase from activity at boat shows, dealer brokerage inventory is likely to also increase. As buyers step-up to new boat purchases, their previously-owned boat will enter into the used boat market. This increase in used boat inventory is good news for buyers in the market for a quality used boat at a good price.

This used boat inventory also becomes a hot showcase at boat shows across the U.S. Boat brokers and dealers can typically be found showcasing some of their best used boat inventory at many of the local or regional boat shows that feature used boats.
